Prepare yourself for the ultimate biking mania

If biking is your thing, then you should head to Goa for the India Bike Week (20 – 27th February). Over 10,000 riders and bike enthusiasts are expected to ride from across the country to Goa to celebrate the spirit and lifestyle of biking. Here are the highlights of the third edition of the Bike Week:

Long Haul Ride winners

IBW will identify exceptional rides covered by people in their individual capacity, like, Shaheen Basheer, who has completed 30,000 kms in 3.5 months on his Harley-Davidson Street™ 750, Harley owner Puru Manvi, who has undertaken a pan-India ride starting from Mumbai and culminating at IBW Goa over a period of 1.5 months, or Jerry Philips, a 51-year old, who is spreading the message of ‘Swachh Bharath’ across villages and towns panning over 25,000 kms in 2.5 months.

Impressive Music Line-Up

There will be performances by the likes of DJ Akhtar (one of the top three DJs in India) and Nucleya (co-founder of the Bandish Projekt and since then, has released 14 singles, studio albums and numerous collaborations). Rest of the line-up includes Curtain Blue, DJ Uri, Frame, Ashok aka OX7GEN, Indian vocalist, composer and playback singer Siddharth Basrur, Sound Avtar aka DJ SA, Sky Rabbit, Nicholson aka Fuzzy Logic, Whirling Kalapas, Your Chin, Blackstratblues and Clayton Hogermeer.

The Vintage & Classic Bike Concourse

Along with the other bikes on display at IBW, rarely displayed heritage pieces like the Ariel Redhunter, BSA Rocket Goldstar, Norton Dominator, RE Constellation 650 and BSA Golden Flash will also be seen at the event, sourced from collectors across the country. An addition to the section is the Indian Heritage Class, featuring the likes of  Enfield Mofa, Jawa 350 and Enfield Fantabulous. Selective models of the Moto Guzzi, Triumph, Benelli, Aprilia and Harley-Davidson will also be made available for test rides.

Interesting Contests

The festival will see some unique contests such as Shoot Your Journey (you can make a stunning video or send them pictures of any motorcycle journey and win exciting gifts), Zippo Be The Man games, fun games judged by women to identify the strongest men at IBW and so on. There will also be a live art display by artists preselected from an art competition held by Vespa and  Dyno Wars.

Camping

This year, for the first time, IBW organisers are providing a cliff-top camping experience for interested bikers. Walking out of your tent and seeing the blue Indian Ocean spread out before you is a sight like no other. Additional travel and accommodation packages are also available.
