It’s hardly been a month since Tanishq pulled its festive ad after the negative reactions it received. Now, the brand is once again under scrutiny from upset Indians for their latest Diwali ad.

The latest Tanishq ad was released on social media to celebrate the festival of Diwali. It featured prominent actresses like Neena Gupta, Nimrat Kaur, Sayani Gupta and Alaya F. In the short video, Sayani Gupta happens to share her feelings towards Diwali, and suggested that we shouldn’t use firecrackers. “I’m hoping to meet my mom after really long, definitely not firecrackers. I don’t think anybody should light any firecrackers, but lot of diyas,” Gupta says in the ad.

But a few netizens saw that as unnecessary advice, even though the government themselves have officially placed restrictions on fireworks this year.

BJP National General Secretary C.T. Ravi tweeted: “Why should anyone advise Hindus how to celebrate Our Festivals? Companies must focus on selling their products, not lecture us to refrain from bursting Crackers.”
