In a shocking turn of events, Raj Kundra, Shilpa Shetty’s husband, was taken into custody by Mumbai Police. The businessman was arrested in connection to a pornography case. The arrest happened after a case registered by Mumbai Police’s crime branch in February 2021came into action. It is being said that Shilpa Shetty’s husband is responsible for the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some mobile based- applications.

“There was a case registered with Crime Branch Mumbai in Feb 2021 about the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some Apps. We’ve arrested Mr Raj Kundra in this case on 19/7/21 as he appears to be the key conspirator of this. We have sufficient evidence regarding this,” the Mumbai police said in a press statement. Kundra has been remanded in police custody till July 23 by a Mumbai court.
Mumbai Police Commissioner, Hemant Nagrale, added “We have arrested Raj Kundra in this case on 19/7/21 as he appears to be the key conspirator of this. We have sufficient pieces of evidence regarding this. The investigation is in progress.” He also revealed that women were enticed into acting in pornographic movies, with assurances of roles in web series.
Sources close to the development revealed, “Key piece of evidence in Raj Kundra arrest are WhatsApp chats between Kundra and his partners with relation to porn content.” It is also being reported that Shilpa Shetty’s husband and his partners collected Rs 1.85 lakh generated through LIVE revenue and over Rs 4.50 lakh through the sales of the films on the apps.
In their remand note issued by the police, they have alleged that the accused “made profits in lakhs in this illegal business of making pornographic films and uploading the same via some mobile apps for which subscription fees is taken from viewers”.
The police further alleged that the pornographic material was uploaded on an app called ‘HotShots’. The app was developed by Arms Prime Pvt Ltd, a company owned by Raj Kundra. Three women have also reportedly come forward with complaints in the case, saying that they were “forced to act in pornographic movies”.
