PewDiePie Fights Racist Comments By Raising 1.6 Cr For Indian Kids

Pewdiepie has ruled over YouTube for five glorious years, in terms of viewership and subscription count. With about 74 million subscribers, his channel has raked in almost 20 billion views in a span of 8 years.

 

But, not anymore. The Indian music label, T-series is all set to give a tough fight to knock out the YouTube king. And, his fans aren’t happy.

While the gamer has done a couple of segments about India on his channel, it has been all fun and games. Although his comment section begged to differ, it had been cluttered with racist and distasteful messages. But, the YouTuber was quick to call out his fans’ actions.

In retaliation to the train of hate comments, the Swedish gamer decided to set up a GoFundMe along with the NGO, Child’s Right And You to help out kids in India. This fundraiser has successfully surpassed its goal and managed to raise $239,000 in just a day.
