Pete Davidson came out of his introverted shell to do an exclusive, rare, new interview when he appeared as a guest on the latest episode of Live Your Truth: An Honest Conversation With Charlamagne Tha God. Davidson made sure to not come in with filters and have an honest and deep conversation, where he addressed everything from his relationships and SNL to mental health and cutting himself.
One of the mot shocking moments from the interview was when he revealed his intentions on being done with SNL. “I personally think I should be done with that show because they make fun of me on it,” he said.
He added that he’s treated as a punchline on the show. “I’m like, cold open, political punchlines. I’m like, Weekend Update jokes,” said Davidson. “When I’m not there, they’ll be like, ‘Huh huh huh, Pete’s a fucking jerk face.’ And you’re like, ‘Whose side are you on?'”
“I have a weird feeling in that building where I don’t know whose team they’re playing for really,” Davidson revealed. “If I’m the joke or I’m in on the joke.”
Apart from this, Davidson talked about his mental health and how he sometimes takes drugs and relives his stress by cutting himself. He also mentioned why that’s one of the reasons he gets so many tattoos.
“It’s just like a release,” he said.
Charlamagne further investigated and asked, “Does the cutting bring any relief?” To which, Davidson said, “Oh yeah it’s awesome. It’s not awesome, but the feeling of it after while you’re doing it it feels really great…”
