Kangana Ranaut amended her petition before Bombay High Court to seek compensation of Rs 2 crore from BMC for illegal demolition at her bungalow.
In the amended plea, Ranaut alleged that the BMC’s decision to demolish her property was a consequence of her comments against the Maharashtra government. The same party is heading the civic body, so it was misused to carry out the demolition, says the actress.
Ranaut criticised Mumbai police’s handling of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case investigation and later referred Mumbai as “Pakistan-occupied Kashmir” and “Pakistan,” which led to a political controversy. She also posted a video on Instagram in which she stated she feared Mumbai Police more than the “movie mafia” after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.
The actor further added that BMC’s claim in reply to her petition challenging the demolition, was without proper evidence. The civic body’s claim that they found 14 alterations and additions to the property during the inspection was not substantiated by proper evidence, reported by Hindustan Times.
