Sebastian Vettel Chases Thieves On An Electric Scooter
‘Inspector Seb Back At It Again’: The Internet Reacts As Sebastian Vettel Chases Thieves On An Electric Scooter

Maybe Seb will fancy a career in law enforcement after retiring from F1

It seems like Sebastian Vettel’s chasing skills aren’t only limited to the track. The four-time Formula One champion was robbed recently in Barcelona, and as per reports, the thieves stole a backpack from Vettel’s car. But instead of filing a police report as common folk would do, the German decided to chase them, and on his electric scooter!

Vettel was part of the Barcelona Grand Prix with his current team, Aston Martin. However, the disappointment of finishing outside the points was only compounded by the robbery. Fortunately, though, Vettel realised that the pair of headphones within the bag contained a tracking feature.

But instead of waiting for Catalan Police to help, Vettel rode down to the location on an electric scooter. The thieves made an escape with the backpack, Vettel was able to recover his pair of headphones inside a flower vase. Police are still on the lookout for the backpack, which contained the driver’s personal documents.

A statement released by Aston Martin (which has no mention of the chase), reads “A bag belonging to Sebastian was stolen in Barcelona this morning. He tried to find it by using his iPhone to track his earphones which were in his bag, but when he located his earphones he found them abandoned and was therefore unable to locate his stolen bag.”

This isn’t the first time the F1 paddock has been struck with cases of robbery. Back in April, it was Charles Leclerc who was robbed of his watch that was worth $320,000. Similarly, Lando Norris was mugged last July outside the Wembley Stadium after the Euro 2020 final.

Coming back to Sebastian Vettel, the racing driver has quite a reputation on the internet. He is called as ‘Inspector Seb’ thanks to multiple photos of him closely inspecting his opponent’s cars. As expected, the internet had a field day with the news, with many flooding Twitter with the reactions.
