Actor Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson have been diagnosed with coronavirus in Australia. The actor has been filming Baz Luhrmann’s untitled production about Elvis Presley. The World Health Organization (WHO) officially declared the outbreak to be a pandemic on March 11.
The actor wrote on Instagram: “We felt a bit tired like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that come and went. Slight fevers too.
Warner Bros. said in a statement: “We are working closely with the appropriate Australian health agencies to identify and contact anyone who may have come in direct contact with the individual. The health and safety of our company members is always our top priority, and we are taking precautions to protect everyone who works on our productions around the world.”
It was revealed recently that Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor has also contracted the Coronavirus. What’s worse is that she hosted a party of over 100 people and hence, it is possible that she could have infected them as well – these people include members of parliament and politician Vasundhara Raje and BJP’s Lok Sabha MP Dushyant Singh. Here’s her Instagram post explaining the situation.
“Six of us in our family are undergoing test today at 4pm. Kanika has attended three parties after her arrival. She came in contact with around 350-400 families in three parties. Along with Kanika, we are also in isolation,” her father Rajiv Kapoor told Aaj Tak.
After Kapoor tested positive, Singh and Raje have put themselves in self-quarantine.
Kapoor has been admitted to King George’s Medical University (KGMU) hospital in Lucknow, reports The Print.
Furthermore, Idris Elba has also tested positive for the Coronavirus. “Yesterday was good and bad, you know what I mean? It was bad because obviously I tested positive, but also good because I think it opened up a lot of conversation around it. I think it made it a lot more real for some people, it definitely made it more real for me and my family,” he said during a live stream on Twitter, describing the past 24 hours.
“Right now though I am feeling OK. Woke up this morning, didn’t have any symptoms. My voice is a little bit tired, I just didn’t sleep that well. Still don’t have any symptoms, checking fever twice a day, and feel good, feel OK,” he added.
Former Bond girl, actress Olga Kurylenko, who starred as Camille Montes opposite Daniel Craig in the 2008 James Bond film “Quantum of Solace,” also shared that she has been diagnosed with the virus. “I’ve actually been ill for almost a week now. Fever and fatigue are my main symptoms,” she wrote on Instagram.
