Conor McGregor better start shaking in his boot now. Internet sensation and UFC’s new signee Hasbulla Magomedov has replied to The Notorious’ recent comment, saying that “he could cause some problems” for McGregor if they meet in person. But before we start saving up for the pay-per-view, here’s a little bit of context.
Earlier this month, McGregor showcased his displeasure over Hasbulla signing for UFC in a series of now-deleted tweets. The Irishman referred to the Tik Tok star as a “little smelly inbred” whom “he’d love to boot over a goalpost.”
The internet being the internet, screenshots of the deleted tweets have now gone viral, prompting a response from Hasbulla in a recent podcast. Despite being 3 foot 4 inches and suffering from dwarfism, the 20-year-old seems to be up for the challenge, saying “Yeah, I saw all of his Tweets of me. But he is not my opponent, he can just talk. He’s not like a fighter to me, I don’t respect him as a fighter. And if I meet him I will cause some problems for him.”
It should be noted here that Hasbulla shares a close relationship with Khabib Nurmagomedov, a former foe of McGregor in the UFC. Coming back to the topic though, this is not the first time the Tik Tok star has had a run-in with MMA athletes. Sometime back Hasbulla reportedly attacked reigning UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski backstage and stole his belt.
For now, it looks like the Russian may have to wait for his fight, with McGregor still recovering from a broken leg caused by the hands of Dustin Poirier last July. The Irishman is currently #13 in the UFC lightweight rankings, despite not winning a fight in that class in almost five years.
