Imagine this, you’re driving and are confused where to go. You whip out Google Maps, start navigation and suddenly, Amitabh Bachchan’s voice come through the speakers and tells you take a right in 300 metres. Well, that could soon become a reality.
According to a recent report, Google India has approached actor Amitabh Bachchan to voice Google Maps. “Amitabh Bachchan has the most influential and recognisable baritone. Hence, he is the best choice for the voice of Google Maps. He has been approached, but the contract has not been signed yet,” said one of the sources to Mid-Day.
The report also mentions that Bachchan has been offered an exorbitant amount of money to lend his voice to the app. There is still no clarity on whether the proposal is being accepted or not. “It’s up to Bachchan now,” says the source to Mid-Day.
This would not be the first time Google approached a Bollywood actor to lend their voice. Aamir Khan voiced his character named Firangi from Thugs of Hindustan for Google Maps back in 2018.
