In a weird turn of events, wildlife expert and film-maker Sir David Attenborough will be joining forces with one of UK rap’s most prominent name — Santan Dave.
The duo will be teaming up for a new, unique musical wildlife programme on the BBC. The special programme is “designed to lift viewers’ spirits during a time of international uncertainty”, and will include shots from Attenborough’s previous BBC series Planet Earth II and Blue Planet II.
Apart from Dave, the special will also feature a reworked score from Hans Zimmer along with new compositions.
Dave shared his feelings about working with Sir Attenborough and Zimmer in a statement. “I’ve always been [a] fan of powerful natural history documentaries,” said Dave. “This is a programme where nature and music come together, so it was only right that I lent my talent, my time, and my attention to this project. It was a pleasure to work alongside Sir David Attenborough and Hans Zimmer.”
The musical special is expected to air on BBC One on August 31.
