And here is a throwback of our story on Coldplay’s visit to Mumbai last year, where they shot this exotic video and Sonam Kapoor’s cameo.
Make way for Sonam Kapoor who, according to recent reports, will feature in a small cameo in British band Coldplay’s newest video alongside Beyonce. Do you remember Coldplay’s visit to India last year, where they shot a video for the number ‘Hymn for the Weekend’? It turns out that that song will be the next single from the Brit band’s album, known as A Head Full of Dreams, featuring the lovely ladies. The first single from the album was ‘Adventure of a Lifetime’ that remained one of the top ten UK singles for about 6 weeks.
Coldplay has been making waves in India since last year with a spontaneous performance at the Summer House Café, Hauz Khas in the national capital and then subsequently shooting for a music video at Worli Village, Mumbai. The video featuring Sonam is shot by acclaimed director, Ben Mor at locations such as the Worli Village and the Vasai Fort, Mumbai, while the song marks the coming together of two of the biggest names in the music industry: Beyonce and Coldplay.
Sonam Kapoor confirmed the good news with Mumbai Mirror and also stated her excitement and elation at being a part of the music video. “I love Coldplay’s music and so does the world. It was a huge honour to be a part of the video. It’s a great concept and I had a lot of fun shooting for it”, she stated. According to sources, Sonam adorns a traditional look in the music video which also includes a Mang Tika and a nose ring.
Sonam is yet another name to be added to the coveted list of Indian celebrities who are making waves, nationally and internationally. First, we had Priyanka Chopra displaying her prowess in Quantico, where she was also rewarded with adulation from international fans at the People’s Choice Awards and then, we received the wonderful news of our very own Deepika Padukone who is set to star alongside Vin Diesel. If the recent news of Dhanush’s Hollywood venture with Uma Thurman gave you goosebumps, then you should definitely wait and watch for this unique collaboration between Coldplay and Beyonce, featuring Sonam Kapoor.
