Actor Asif Basra, known for his role in thriller series Paatal Lok and his films, Black Friday and Parzania, was found dead in Himachal Pradesh’s McLeod Ganj, the police have said. As of now, a forensic team has arrived and investigations are underway as to how he died. The police are also investigating if it was death by suicide. Basra was 53.

 

PTI reports that the actor had a property on lease in Mcleodganj and used to visit the hill station often.

 

Basra’s film Black Friday was on the 1993 Mumbai blasts and Parzania was based on the 2002 Gujarat riots.

 

Asif Basra was also a known face in the theatre circuit, having starred in several plays in India and abroad across a variety of languages ranging from English, Hindi, and Urdu.

 

Asif Basra was born in 1967 in Amravati in Maharashtra and moved to Mumbai in 1989 to pursue a career in acting.
