Under the aegis of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I & B), the head of jury for feature films, Shekhar Kapur announced the winners of the 65th National Film Awards Friday.
Rajkummar Rao‘s Newton was recognised as the best Hindi film while the super hit action film Baahubali 2 was pronounced as the ‘Best Popular Film,’ on the occasion. The most emotion-arousing name on the list though was Sridevi, who was awarded the best actress for her 2017 movie MOM. The actress passed away earlier this year due to accidental drowning.
Kapur also recommended more women to the jury for next year while there was also conversation about how Indian cinema, especially regional films, have improved in leaps and bounds.
