We all love attending weddings. From wearing good clothes to eating finger licking food, no celebration is as grand as the one that takes place during an Indian wedding. It’s also an occasion to meet and socialize with new people, as there is no paucity of conversation topics. 

It’s also a place where women put a lot of effort into looking good, and a lot of men go weak in the knees after exchanging a glance with someone who looks like she has just been dropped from heaven. But usually, things end at a glance or a customary conversation. It doesn’t have to be that way. So without further ado, here are some things you should do. 

Ask her where the bar is

Even though you know it already. If she answers with a smile, return that smile and ask her if she wants to join. Everything seems better after a few pegs, and you are bound to have a lot of funny and upbeat memories to share. Also remember to be a good listener, and don’t cut her off. 

Ask your friend who knows her to introduce you to her

If she seems like a bit of an introvert, then you would come across badly if you went up to her directly. It’ll be great if you can locate a mutual friend, and ask him to break the ice. Do this smartly, without making it look too forced and it’ll be great to know of a common ground so that you can break into conversation easily. 

Dance with the bride’s mother

If there’s an opportunity to dance, make sure you set the floor on fire. Remember Ranveer Singh from Band Baaja Baaraat. It’ll also be great to dance with the bride’s mother, if you are a ladkiwaale. It’ll show that you are a happy person. 

After a few moves, you can start dancing with her. 

Getting tipsy (not drunk) helps

Don’t get drunk enough to embarrass yourself or be unable to walk and talk properly, but get drunk enough to be able to crack a joke on every person in the room. Discreetly, of course. 

Don’t try too hard

A lot of Indian men fall into this trap. If things don’t go smoothly, probably they’re not meant to. If you try too hard and say things that don’t come out properly or try to make things happen sooner than they should, you’ll end up looking like a fool. That’ll ruin a perfectly good occasion for you.
