Whoever said you can’t honeymoon on a budget, we are here to prove them wrong

Let’s face it, the honeymoon is the best part about getting married and probably the only thing you look forward to after the madness of your wedding. Sadly, not everyone can afford a luxury vacation especially right after splurging on the wedding. However, this doesn’t mean you don’t get a fabulous honeymoon at a lovely destination. We understand how hectic weddings can be which is why a romantic getaway is absolutely called for. Here is a list of stunning destinations where you can enjoy some alone time with your partner without burning a hole in your pocket.

Bali

The first and most obvious choice for every newlywed couple. Even though the island is more scenic than romantic, couples still prefer this place because of the serenity it offers. Bali is more than just dreamy sunsets and warm hospitality. You can stay in one of those villas on the beach and indulge in water sports. If you want to do something exciting, head east to the dive spots and swim alongside corals. Explore the rice fields, valleys and forested volcanic mountains that the island is known for. You can also check out the famous nightspots that offer exciting clubbing scenes. However, if you are looking for something more on the adventurous side, go for a jog on the mountain tracks which lead up to the shopping streets. Oh and of course, indulge in their mouthwatering local cuisine while you’re at it.

Nepal

When we hear Nepal, we think about the Himalayan peaks. But who knew the little Asian country has also got a romantic side to it? Be it camping by the lake, trekking or going for a helicopter ride, it has it all. But if you are not a fan of thrilling activities, you can always walk around the streets of Nepal with your loved one. Sounds romantic, right? Even though the place doesn’t have much of a nightlife, it’s a great place to reconnect with nature and get to know your partner better. We would advise you and your partner to stay in Pokhara, known for its lakes and valleys, to make your honeymoon even more romantic and memorable. The best part is you can visit the place the whole year around and you don’t even require a visa.

Bhutan

If you and your partner enjoy culture and history then, this will be the perfect honeymoon destination for you. The place is filled with ancient temples and fortresses with fascinating backstories and natural beauty. The places worth visiting are Paro Valley and the capital Thimpu to get the closest to their cultural history.

Sri Lanka

If you are someone who enjoys getting away from city life and hiding away in serenity, Sri Lanka is just the place for you. This country has nothing but exotic locations that will add up to the intimacy. The ideal place to go would be Mirissa which is a secluded beach. You can watch whales and dolphins swim by while you’re there. But if you’re more of a mountain person, take a train and travel to this little mountain village called Ella and take a walk in the middle of tea plantations and jungle canopies.

Cambodia

Cambodia is one of those honeymoon destinations that will give you a luxurious experience on a budget. This place will give you rare culture experience along with modern art experience. They have a number of amazing little indoor and outdoor cafes that have their own gardens and flavoured plates, perfect for impromptu date plans. Besides, white sands and turquoise water will transport you into a state of tranquillity.
