A new smartphone, a large-screen tab, a top-of-the-line OLED TV and a fully loaded smart TV — Xiaomi has rolled out a few products for the India market at Xiaomi Next 2022, the company’s first big offline launch event in a while. We bring you all the key announcements from the venue:

Work and Play

Xiaomi is making a play for the premium tab segment with the Xiaomi Pad 5. Android Tabs have been hampered by a lack of a tab-specific OS, but Xiaomi unveiled MIUI for Pad, a user interface designed for the tab. It’s a big part of its productivity pitch that the company believes will make multi-tasking easier on its tabs.

It’s not just software optimisations. Xiaomi’s new Smart Pen weighs just 12.2 gms and it goes from 0 to 100 percent charge in under 20 minutes. The Xiaomi Pad 5 also comes with ‘Active Palm rejection,’ a handy feature that ensures there are no ghost or accidental touches. Also on display was the Xiaomi Pad Keyboard that allows the Pad 5 to morph into a laptop-style device.

One of the big talking points of the tab is the 10.95-inch display (2560 x 1600 pixels) with a 120Hz refresh rate. Stay tuned for our deep-dive where we’ll check out the productivity cred of Xiaomi’s most ambitious tab ever. Price: From Rs 26,999

An Annual Refresh

Xiaomi’s unique PatchWall user interface has been one of the key planks on which its Smart TV pitch is built. This user friendly UI has now been refreshed with a clever IMDb integration in the new Xiaomi TV 5a.

The Xiaomi TV 5a is propelled  by a Cortex A55 processor and boasts a bezel-less design. It comes in three size variants: 32 inches, 40 inches and 43 inches, and is powered by the Vivid Picture Engine that optimizes colour contrast and come with DTS X audio. Price: From 13,499

Smart Shooter

Xiaomi is betting big on the triple rear camera built into its new premium flagship – the  Xiaomi 12 Pro. It combines three 50MP lenses (all with night mode) that include the all-new Sony IMX 707 sensor (the primary lens). There’s also an ultra-wide lens and a telephoto lens. The 12 Pro also features a quad speaker setup tuned by Harman Kardon. At the 12 Pro’s heart is the flagship processor of the season – the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Generation 1. There’s a choice of two hardware variants – 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB. The 12 Pro is also a showcase for Xiaomi’s 120W HyperCharge which is capable to charging the battery from 0 to 100 percent in 18 minutes.

The velvet-matte finish and the cool waveform speaker grille were few of the design elements that made an instant impression in our first brush with this device at the launch. The 6.73-inch 2K+ AMOLED display that peaks at 1500 nits gives the 12 Pro one of the most vibrant displays out there. Price: From Rs 62,999

Making An Entry

The Xiaomi Next 2022 event also saw the debut of the brand’s first OLED TV – the Xiaomi OLED Vision TV 55”. At 4.6 mm, it’s one of the thinnest OLED TVs and features a bezel-less form factor with a metal frame. Xiaomi stretches the screen: body ratio to 97 percent.

The sleek 55-inch TV boasts 8.29 million self-illuminating pixels. It is IMAX enhanced, features Dolby Vision IQ (matches the lighting conditions of your room) and also offers HDR10+ support. The eight-speaker set up gets a boost with Dolby Atmos. Price: Rs 89,999
