Green seems to the colour of the season for smartphones. From the iPhone 13 to OnePlus Pro 10 we’ve seen some cool shades of green over the past few weeks. The Samsung Galaxy M33 5G is the latest to join that party. In September 2021, we checked out the M32 5G, that became one of Samsung’s first 5G-ready M Series devices. The M33 5G takes up the baton from the M32 5G and comes with quite a few enhancements, we’re not just talking about the chic green here.

That familiar M Series vibe

The Samsung Galaxy M33 5G sticks with the familiar Galaxy M Series template. You can feel the heft of the 6000 mAh battery when you pick up the device. Samsung still manages to keep this device around the 200 gm mark and about the same weight as the M32 5G, this despite a larger battery. We’re not fans of Samsung’s teardrop notch or what it calls the Infinity-V display. It is beginning to look slightly dated in 2022. The display itself is quite impressive for this price tag. Samsung has kitted the M33 with a 6.6-inch FHD+ display with a 120hz refresh rate. It’s all the screen you need for those all-night binge sessions. The robust 6000 mAh battery has you covered – you should comfortably sail beyond a day even with significant screen time.

Added firepower

Samsung has packed the M33 with the Exynos 1280 processor. It’s a smart move, this is the same chipset that powers the A53 5G and gives this device extra wings. We checked out the 8GB/128GB variant, there’s also a 6GB/128GB option. We registered a score of 1852 in our Geekbench benchmark test, a significant jump over the numbers of the M32 5G. The M33 has to contend with quite a few rivals in this segment including the POCO X4 Pro 5G and this chipset allows it to hold its own.

All-round appeal

The M33 5G lands in an ultra-competitive price segment where consumers are constantly seeking serious value for money. The quad camera is part of the device’s all-round appeal. It combines a 50MP primary lens with a 5MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor that allows you to shoot portraits with a bokeh effect. You can also play around with tools like Single take and object eraser. The device shoots good images in ambient light but doesn’t really ace it in lowlight. The 8MP selfie cam comes with the AR fun mode that can certainly keep you entertained. Samsung has clearly thrown in a lot into this device that is worth checking out if you’re in the market for a sub Rs 20K smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy M33 5G comes in blue and green and is priced at Rs 18,999 for 6GB+128GB and Rs 20,499 for 8GB+128GB variant. It’s available at a special introductory price of Rs 17,999/ Rs 19,499. There’s also an instant cashback of Rs 2,000 on ICICI Cards.
