Akai, Nintendo and the Sony PlayStation 1 has been a huge part of my childhood. Blowing on the cartridges and spending countless hours on the console was an everyday routine. Time went on, I grew up and the console evolved from the original, to the PlayStation 2, 3 and now, the 4.
I own the fourth generation of the PS and have access to games with realistic graphics and ones that make use of modern day technology. Yet, I sometimes still have a strong urge that just pops up inside me, to play GTA or Mario game on an old console. I guess a lot of people felt the same way and PlayStation decided to act on it, by releasing the PlayStation Classic.
The console comes in a much more smaller size than what is was and the box comes with two controllers. The controllers will be connected to the console through USB. The essence of the original is still retained, with the interface remaining unchanged and even the graphics. Probably the best part about this release, is that the console comes pre-loaded with 20 iconic games. Here’s a list of all the pre-loaded games:
- Cool Boarders 2
- Destruction Derby
- Final Fantasy VII
- Grand Theft Auto
- Intelligent Qube
- Jumping Flash
- Metal Gear Solid
- Mr Driller
- Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee
- Rayman
- Resident Evil Director’s Cut
- Revelations: Persona
- Ridge Racer Type 4
- Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
- Syphon Filter
- Tekken 3
- Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six
- Twisted Metal
- Wild Arms
