After the PUBG ban in India, people are looking for an equally engaging alternative, which has led various big names in the gaming industry to try satisfy the demand. After Activision brought Call of Duty: Mobile, it is now Electronic Arts that is coming with Apex Legends for the mobile platform.

A glimpse of this was released earlier on Play Store, which shows various screenshots of the Apex Legends Mobile gameplay, and has opened for the pre-registration process. Players can sign up for the beta version of the game, but note that it will be accessible to only a few thousands of players for now.

EA will initially release Apex Legends Mobile only in India and Philippines. Moreover, the early beta is restricted to Android users only. Apex Legends Mobile is EA’s implementation of the battle royale genre and is derivative of the PC counterpart. There would be a different version for the Nintendo Switch coming later.

“As we continue with testing, we’ll expand the size of these tests, add new regions, and implement iOS support. When we’re ready to go broader, we’ll launch a page that allows you to pre-register for the game and sign up for news about the betas,” says EA on its blog.

Similar to its computer and console version, the game will be free-to-play for everyone similar to PUBG Mobile. “Yep, like PC and console, Apex Legends Mobile is free-to-play and never includes paid items that grant a gameplay advantage,” says EA. However, there will be in-game items for purchase in the form of Battle Passes, collectible cosmetics, and unlockables unique from those found in the PC and console versions of Apex Legends.

“Because Apex Legends Mobile is being built especially for mobile, it won’t feature cross-play with the console or PC versions of Apex Legends,” says EA in its press release.
