Apple’s latest iPad Air is the latest device to join the company’s tablet line-up. But it seems like, Apple has stacked it with such optimal features, buyers might have a hard time choosing between the 2020 iPad Air or the iPad Pro.
While the iPad Pro is the more superior device in many aspects, the iPad Air has some significant upgrades over its older model that make it the more practical choice in 2020:
DESIGN
The new iPad Air is almost identical to the Pro. Well, more like identical to the 2018 Pro. The previous generation Air still sported the old, fingerprint-reading home button at the bottom of the screen. The new Air also comes with thinner bezels, but still not as thin as the Pro. Plus, you also get a variety of amazing colours to choose from to let your iPad pop.
CAMERA
How many times have you used the camera on your tablet? Just a few times, we bet. Your tablet camera just needs to be capable enough to carry out basic tasks, which the 12-mp wide camera on the Air can easily do. You don’t get the Pro’s 12-mp ultra-wide or the LIDAR sensor, but you would probably not use them too often anyway.
PERFORMANCE
Previously, considering an Air as powerful as a Pro was ludicrous. In 2020, it’s very much a possibility. As per several tests and benchmark scores, the Air’s A14 bionic chip isn’t far behind from the the Pro’s A12 Z Bionic when it comes to performance.
ACCESORIES
When the 2018 and 2020 Pro was released, Apple also introduced new iPad accessories like the second-gen Apple Pencil and the Magic Keyboard earlier this year. The older iPad Airs weren’t compatible with these new, exciting accessories, but the 2020 Air is. You can make use of the incredible Apple Pencil 2, and let your iPad float thanks to the Magic Keyboard, which now fits onto the 2020 Air.
PRICE
Undoubtedly one of the biggest factors going for the Air is its cheaper price tag. In India, the Air starts at Rs 54,900, which is almost Rs 20,000 lesser than the Pro which starts at Rs 71,900.
