Taylor Swift made the most of her quarantine time and released her eighth album, folklore, which has been dominating the music charts.
The album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s 200 albums chart this week making it her seventh No. 1 title on the chart. According to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, the album sold 846,000 equivalent albums in the U.S.
The last album to sell more units in a single week was Swift’s Lover album which was released last August.
The 30-year-old singer has now become the first artist to have seven albums sell at least 500,000 albums in a single week. While Swift’s eighth album was released digitally, it will also be available as a CD on the 7th of August this year.
