Zinedine Zidane is one of the best Real Madrid players to ever play for them. He won the Champions League with Real in 2002, scoring that brilliant volley against Bayer Leverkusen. That goal reminded everyone of a class player, and is etched in our minds forever.

It is rumoured that Zidane has told his players that he would be leaving the club, without any doubt. This rumour was confirmed by famous journalist Fabrizio Romano via his social media.

Zidane started his managerial career at Real Madrid itself when he joined Carlo Ancelotti’s coaching staff. He was the Assistant Manager when Real Madrid completed La Decima. It was not long before he made his managerial debut for Real Madrid. He took over Real Madrid’s first team during the 15/16 season, and helped them win the UEFA champions league for three consecutive seasons, a feat that has never been achieved till then. Zidane had created a team that everyone feared, and had superstars playing all over the pitch. From Navas in goal to Ronaldo and Bale on the wings.

After 2018, both Cristiano Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane parted ways with Real Madrid, and everyone thought this might be the end for Real Madrid’s Champions League hopes for a few years at least. Real realised that letting Zidane go was a mistake, and called him during the 2018/19 season.

Zidane started his charge as manager again, but things were different. His squad has been aging, and the players brought in as replacements weren’t delivering the results. He only has a few match-winning performers like Benzema, Modric, Kroos, and Ramos.

More rumours suggest that Zidane and Florentino Perez, President of Real Madrid, had a fallout regarding the European Super league, which might have caused Zidane to consider his role as manager.

Real Madrid has even started looking at possible replacement options for Zidane, with Massimiliano Allegri and Raul termed the most prominent contenders in this role.
