The World Test Championship’s inaugural edition came to an end recently, and fans were over the moon about how the cycle went and how the final took place. The second cycle of the World Test Championship is set to begin sooner rather than later, and the schedule for which has already been announced. India, still in England, will be playing a five-match test series against the hosts starting the first week of August. This will be an essential series for the Indians as each test match will be pivotal from the start, and each game has points to be accounted for. Last time around, it was a much more even contest between the countries when India visited England in 2018. This time around, we hope for some riveting action, and India is the favourites to win the series. After this, India has a chance of revenge again when they face the current World Test Championship winners New Zealand in a two-test series at home. India would be hoping to continue their dominant solid showing at home and conquer Kane and his men. Kohli and his men will have to go to South Africa and beat a revolutionised team under new leadership but with the same intensity that their bowling line-up possesses. India is undoubtedly the favourites in this series, and away series wins are certainly a pedigree India possesses. This concludes the halfway stage of the cycle for Team India, and they have two home series after this daunting South Africa series. They face Srilanka in a three-match series at home before Australia arrives for a four-match series and hope to reclaim the Border Gavaskar trophy. Finally, the schedule ends when India goes for a two-match test series to Bangladesh’s neighbors, who shouldn’t be underestimated in home conditions. These are the six series India would be playing in the second cycle of the World Test Championship.

Virat Kohli and Team India would be hoping to reach the final and win their first title for many years now. But before that, they have many other ICC tournaments to look forward to and give their entire focus on. Team India wouldn’t be making many changes in their squads as it has a good balance of youth and experience, and the veteran players are still doing the job for them, so they shouldn’t worry that much.
