India wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant has lashed out at Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela after her recent interview went viral. Pant, who will be seen in action later this month in Asia Cup, posted a story on Instagram but deleted it within ten minutes. 

Pant wrote, “It’s funny how people lie in interviews just for some meagre popularity and for hitting the headlines. Sad how some people are so thirsty for fame and name. May God bless them.”

A couple of years ago, there were rumours going around on the internet about Rautela dating the Indian cricketer, after they were spotted together for a dinner. Pant soon clarified the matter by posting a picture with his girlfriend Isha Negi on Instagram.

Later on, it came to light that both of them mutually blocked each other on Whatsapp. But in her recent interview, Rautela reignited the fire by talking about “Mr. RP”, who is none other than Pant. The actress said that Pant waited for her in ahotel lobby while she was in New Delhi for her film shooting. 

“I had a show in New Delhi so I had to take a flight from Varanasi. In New Delhi, I was shooting a full day and after about 10 hours of shooting when I went back, I had to get ready and you know that girls take a lot of time to get ready. Mr. RP came, he sat in the lobby and waited for me, and he wanted to meet,” told Rautela to Bollywood Hungama.

“I was so tired I dozed off) and I didn’t realize that I had received so many calls. So, when I woke up, I saw 16-17 missed calls and then I felt so bad. That, someone, was waiting for me and I didn’t go,” she added. 

As far as cricketing endeavors are concerned, Pant will be next seen in India’s game against Pakistan, on 28 August. Even though his spot is already sealed for the T20I World Cup, he may have to fight with Dinesh Karthik for a place in the playing XI.
