Cricketers have come a long way in their journey to the top, especially players like Rishabh Pant, who have struggled a lot and have made it to the top after a consistent form in the domestic circuit IPL under 19 tournaments. Throughout this journey, he has posted regularly on Instagram, and yesterday he looked at his old Instagram photos and told the world about that day and the feeling. Sanjana Ganesan conducted a similar interview for her husband and lead Indian bowler Jasprit Bumrah.

The first photo that Pant looks back at is his Under-19 series win in Kolkata, and he won the man of the series after some immense performances. His first-ever series at that level and winning the man of the series in his first-ever series under the guidance of the great Rahul Dravid was a big thing for him. Getting a debut cap for the Indian cricket team is a tremendous honour and to get it from someone not only the player idealises but the whole world does is something to be proud of. He posted a picture getting his maiden ODI cap for Team India from Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s legend himself. Pant had been and still is in constant touch with Dhoni, and the latter often gives him tips on improving his batting according to the situation and the wicketkeeping part. These things have helped Pant grow and develop as the lethal player that he has become today. Another picture he posted with Dhoni was on the latter’s birthday, and since they were together in the team hotel, they celebrated it together.

Pant had posted pictures with Rohit, Shreyas, and other team members when they were in Miami for a series, and he also posted some gymnastic videos of his that he has done in the gym. According to him, the most memorable photo was published this year itself when India won the historic series down under after its circumstances. Pant said that it was an extraordinary feeling as he won the game for his team and to win it in the Australian team’s fortress adds to the feeling. The last photo was also a recent one when Pant and India won the series against England, and the thing he was happy about was that he made a comeback to the team in all three formats.

These pictures will always stay in Pant’s heart and mind, and I would like to remember these moments time and time again as the feeling is surreal. Pant now has a task in hand as he plays New Zealand today in the World Test Championship final. Team India and Indian Team fans would be hoping for something similar to the heroics he showed down under.
