It's been an amazing year for the left-handed Indian batter Rinku Singh. Not only has he cemented his place in the national team, Kolkata Knight Riders also paid a staggering ₹13 crore to keep him in the team, making it the most expensive retention for the franchise. For perspective, at last year’s mega auction, the Aligarh-based cricketer earned a mere ₹55 lakh from KKR. Since his retention, Rinku’s annual income has shot up by 24 times!
"When I started, I had not even thought that I would earn so much. At that time, I was a kid and if I got even 5-10 rupees, I thought that was enough. Now, I am getting 55 lakh rupees, so this is a lot, I should be happy with whatever God gives me. This is my thinking," Rinku had said back then.
Rinku shot to fame after smashing five sixes against Gujarat Titans and following up with a series of match-winning knocks. The all-rounder who used to do menial jobs in construction, like XYZ, to fund his cricketing dreams has recently bought a lavish bungalow in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.

Rinku splurged ₹3.5 crores for his dream, resort-style home that sprawls over 500 square yards in an upscale luxurious society called The Golden Estate. He could have easily bought a lavish villa in any metro city of his choice, but Rinku takes great pride in where he comes from and always wanted to buy his house in his hometown. He named this mansion Veena Palace after his mother.
Singh was jubilant when he gave a tour of his sprawling bungalow on YouTube, saying, "My dream came true when I saw this house. I decided to buy it just a day after seeing it". The gated society comes with a verdant golf court, a full-fledged tennis court, a basketball court and a state-of-the-art gymnasium.
The six-bedroom apartment overlooks a private pool, a garden and a party area with a chic bar counter where the cricketer can easily host a score of guests.
The living room of the house is adorned with expensive chandeliers, a beige-coloured sofa and marble sculptures giving an artistic touch to the area.
One section of the house is dedicated to memorabilia that Rinku has earned in his career, including a cricket bat which he used to hit five consecutive sixes. "You all know this bat. This is the bat that hit five sixes. This is the bat that changed my life," he said in the video.
