Kapil Dev was the first Indian captain to ever lead India to a World Cup victory, and is hence a certified cricket legend in Indian cricket. So when he decides to make his dream team and personally picks out his squad, you better be lucky and talented enough to make it.

Dev recently had the opportunity of sitting down with Neha Dhupia and having a chat on her No Filter Neha Saavn original podcast. During the interaction, Dev was asked to pick make his own ‘Kapil 11’ team and picked a few key players. Dev said, “There’s a test match is different, there’s a one day cricket is different. ODI…if I have to pick, I would say definitely Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Virat Kohli, will be there, Rahul Dravid will be there, Yuvraj will be there.

Other than Kapil Dev, MS Dhoni is the only other Indian captain to lead the Indian team to a World Cup victory. And Dev made sure to make Dhoni an integral part of his squad.  “Wicket Keeper is only Dhoni. Nobody can touch his spot,” the former India captain added.

When it came to bowlers, Dev explained, “You have Zaheer Khan, you have Sreenath. Recently Bhumrah, I can say. He’s done extremely well. Anil Kumble, all-time great spinner, and Harbhajan. These are the cricketers who come to my mind very much there.”
