The 2020 Indian Premiere League (IPL) has been unleashing its full dose of entertainment and great cricketing. Royal Challengers Bangalore have been killing it, keeping the momentum from last year going. The team is determined, and visibly confident in its squad’s capabilities to go to the top and once again reach the finale.
Currently, RCB sits at the third spot on the IPL Points Table, with three losses in the last ten matches. They sit below Mumbai Indians at No. 2 and Delhi Capitals at No. 1. Even though this is a team effort, RCB can primarily thank two people for this — Skipper Virat Kohli and South Africa’s AB de Villiers.
The duo of Kohli and de Villiers are known to be absolutely brutal, and dangerous for the opposing team. And this tournament, the Kohvilliers effect hasn’t been subdued in any way. The two batsmen have helped propel RCB to victory on multiple occasions this season.
The fiery partnership clearly has everyone’s attention, and not just the enthralled audience. The tournament’s other star batsmen like KL Rahul have also started to take notice. During an Instagram interaction on Wednesday, Kings XI Punjab captain KL Rahul jokingly said that he would want the IPL organisers to ban Kohli and de Villiers, when the RCB captain asked him about a rule that he would like to be changed in T20/IPL cricket.
“To start off, I think I would ask IPL to ban you and AB for next year. Once you have achieved a certain amount of runs, I think, the people should say ‘it’s enough’. Once you get 5000 runs it’s enough, now you guys let the others do the work,” KL Rahul said.
