The Premier League has just announced the fixtures for the 2021-22 season. It has just been barely a month since the last season got over. Fans and people are just dwelling over the previous season itself, and the premier league has come today and announced the fixtures for the next season.
The premier league is set to begin on August 14, 2021, with the season-ending on May 22, 2022. It will be an excellent season as three new teams are joining the league from the second division (Championship) and would be providing tough competition to the already existing teams in the championship. The new sides that were promoted are Brentford, Norwich City, and Watford will be facing an uphill task at the same time to survive in the toughest league of them all. Brentford will be hosting Arsenal in their first-ever premier league game in 16 years, while Norwich will face the daunting task of playing Liverpool on the opening weekend. Both the teams will want a win to start their campaign, and if it happens, it would create shock waves around the league and tell everyone about their capability. Watford faces a much easier task of hosting Aston Villa in their first game back in the league and hoping to start well. The eye-catching matches of the opening weekend see defending champions Manchester City travel to Tottenham Hotspur in the high profile clash. At the same time, their neighbors Manchester United will host rivals Leeds United in the highly-anticipated clash. The month of August indeed brings us many vital games that can be pivotal in deciding the league later on in the season. Arsenal vs. Chelsea is scheduled for the second weekend, August 21, before Arsenal travel to Manchester City and Chelsea face Liverpool at Anfield on August 28.
