Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo is set to negotiate a one-year extension at the club, and while he might already be 35 years of age, this just goes on to prove that he is still one of the most sought-after players in the world.
After signing for Juventus back in 2018 following his third consecutive UEFA Champions League title with Real Madrid. Ronaldo signed a four-year deal with the Old Lady, keeping him at the club till the summer of 2022.
The year 2020 proved to be hard for Juventus and the football business in general, as far as finances are concerned, and therefore many European media outlets reported that the club is looking to part ways with Ronaldo.

However, as per a report in Calciomercato, the talks over Ronaldo extending his stay for another year in Turin have already begun. “Cristiano Ronaldo has opened the contract talks with Juve. He is in talks through his agent Mendes, and through a direct relationship with the club,” the publication claims.
For the Portuguese superstar, USA’s Major League Soccer could be the next destination after his contract at Juventus ultimately ends.
“Open to renewal for a further year, bringing the deadline from 30 June 2022 to 2023. Ronaldo intends to stay in top-level football till then, post which he could go to the United States. Ronaldo is ready to negotiate without further claims. Indications are that Juve welcomed the move with great pleasure,” a journalist of the publication said.
Despite being deep into his thirties, Cristiano Ronaldo remains one of the best footballers of our times. So far this season, he has already scored 19 goals in just 18 appearances for Juventus across formats. Ronaldo is still pretty much in the physical capacity to compete with the emerging superstars of world football. He seems to be capable enough to continue at this level for a few more years.
