Can Chris Gayle Hit 'Universe Boss' Zone In The KXIP Vs SRH Match Today?
Can Chris Gayle Hit ‘Universe Boss’ Zone In The KXIP Vs SRH Match Today?

Who can forget Chris Gayle’s unbeaten 175 from 2013 (then an RCB player), where he thrashed Pune Warriors.

IPL 2018 has seen many great innings already, but the one that has been our favourite is the one by none other than Chris Gayle. In KXIP’s last match against CSK, Gayle showed us why he does full justice to the tag of ‘Universe Boss.’ He hit 63 in 33 balls, and laid the foundation for a big total of 197. His innings consisted of 7 fours and 4 sixes (which means 52 out of 63 runs were scored by clearing the fence).

“It was good to be back. I got a text this morning that I would be playing. I am very happy that I have got off to a winning start for this new franchise. That’s Chris Gayle for you – hitting just fours and sixes and not worrying about ones and twos. Rahul took pressure off me at times as well. I am feeling like 25, the Universe Boss is back (laughs),” he said after the match.

This is not the first time Gayle has brought his A-Game in IPL. Who can forget his unbeaten 175 against Pune Warriors in the 2013 edition of the tournament. In case, you missed it, do check out the highlights embedded below.

“I am speechless. I cannot ask for anything more as a captain. Everyone in this stadium should be honored that they got to see one of the best innings ever. I told my bowlers to target 160-170 as this was our best chance of boosting our Net Run Rate. After today’s knock we don’t mind playing anywhere in India. Other teams should look out for us,” RCB captain Virat Kohli said after that match about Chris Gayle’s innings.

Other than his cricket, Chris Gayle is also known for his party lifestyle which is why we did a post last year crowning him the King Of Instagram

Hitting ‘Universe Boss’ mode today against SRH will not be easy. After all, SRH have won all three of their games and will look to extend their winning streak. Also, Chris Gayle’s record against SRH hasn’t been that great, but he’ll look to bury the ghosts of the past. Will he be able to do it? Only time will tell.
