The countdown for the Champions League has begun. Real Madrid will be taking on Liverpool at Stade de France in Paris, on May 29th. Originally slated to be held at Krestovsky Stadium in Saint Petersburg, the UEFA has to change the venue following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Almost four years ago, both sides met in the final in Kyiv. Real Madrid thrashed the Merseyside club by 3-1, thanks to a brace from Gareth Bale after Karim Benzema’s poaching goal gave them an early lead.
For Liverpool, this is going to be the third final in the last five years. They are currently engaged in a thrilling race with Manchester City for the Premier League title. Even if they win their last game, they will have to depend on Manchester City, but they are totally in control of their destiny for the Champions League.
On the other hand, Real Madrid have already secured the domestic title, and they are on their quest for the record 14th European Cup. The Los Blancos have booked a lavish villa, embraced into the middle of Chantilly forest, about 30km away from the hustle and bustle of Paris.
Spread over 7800 hectares, the Auberge du Jeu de Paume is situated at a 30-minute drive from Stade de France. Given the nerve-wracking final, this will be the ideal place for the players to calm themselves.
The rooms are fitted with antique furniture, a spacious bathroom, and a private terrace offering a scenic view of the fountain and garden.
It has close to 100 rooms and suites, two restaurants, and a state-of-art spa where players can relax after gruelling training sessions.
There is no dearth of sporting facilities, and Gareth Bale will truly love the extravagant golf course that’s part of the property.
