The session explored Sangam’s unique tasting notes, the blending process, and its meticulous craftsmanship. Guests were treated to a sensory journey, dissecting aromas, flavours, and textures that define this whisky. From tropical fruits like lychee and green apple to floral notes of rose and heather, Sangam boasts a complex and well-balanced profile. The whisky’s peaty undertones, coupled with cinnamon, nutmeg, and a hint of vanilla, make it a harmonious fusion of Eastern and Western whisky-making traditions.

Although Sangam World Malt Whisky was launched in India just over six months ago, it has already established itself as a serious player on the international stage. It has bagged gold medals at the John Barleycorn Awards and the Beverage Tasting Institute Luxury Spirits Awards 2023, both held in the U.S.—a testament to its world-class quality. The whisky is crafted at the renowned Rampur Distillery, a name that has been consistently redefining India’s premium spirits industry. Sangam, meaning “confluence”, reflects the marriage of Indian whisky-making heritage with European and New World influences. This seamless blend has put the whisky on the radar of collectors and enthusiasts alike.

One of the key takeaways from the session was Radico Khaitan’s commitment to excellence in whisky-making. With Anup Barik’s legacy of blending mastery and Kunal Madan’s expertise in brand-building, Sangam has all the makings of a modern classic.

For those eager to get their hands on a bottle, Sangam is available in select retailers across India. Prices range from ₹4,000 to ₹7,500, depending on state excise structures.
