According to media reports, actor Ralph Fiennes has been attached to play Miss Trunchbull in Netflix’s movie, Matilda.

The film is set to be based on the musical stage play version of the Roald Dahl classic which is based on a child prodigy with the power to control things with her mind. The feature will be released theatrically in the UK by Sony.

The musical stage play also has the Miss Trunchbull character played by a man and has been running in London for nine years now while it had a successful stint in Broadway from 2013 to 2017. Matthew Warchus, the show’s original director is on-board as is Tony-award winning Dennis Kelly.
