Joseph Radhik: India’s Biggest Wedding Photographer
Joseph Radhik: India’s Biggest Wedding Photographer

Joseph Radhik has been shooting weddings for a while now, but it’s his big-ticket wedding photography that has made him the most sought after lensman in the business

To put a twist to the famous Jane Austen line, it is a truth universally acknowledged that an Indian bride-to-be has two dreams – to be dressed by Sabyasachi and photographed by Joseph Radhik. To those in the know, Radhik is one of India’s most celebrated wedding photographers. When the Anushka Sharma –Virat Kohli wedding took place last year in Italy, the one thing that stood out, (apart from the ‘Din Shagna Da’ song from Phillauri) was the brilliant photographs of the couple. The photographer has been featured in multiple magazines, and has won a number of awards. His pictures stand out because of their inherently cinematic feel – imagine a wedding directed by Karan Johar, produced by Yash Raj Films and featuring music by everyone from Lata Mangeshkar to Sunidhi Chauhan. The photos are candid, bright and give you the same feeling that you experience when Pop Rocks go off in your mouth.

Every wedding is a personal experience, even if the darzi has been ordered to stitch a lehenga like Kajol wore in DDLJ, or if the DJ has been handed the playlist that was played during the Isha Ambani – Anand Piramal wedding. If one were to take a look at his ‘Stories by Joseph Radhik’ Instagram handle (@storiesbyjosephradhik), one would notice that he treats every wedding in a similar and yet unique manner. He manages to capture the vibe, the joy, the candid moments and most importantly, the love. Recently, Radhik shot for the globally covered #Nickyanka wedding and the one that had Beyonce performing at the sangeet – the AmbaniPiramal wedding. His shot of Isha Ambani dancing with Priyanka Chopra at the latter’s sangeet ceremony was shared multiple times on social media. For those couples wanting to capture their own big, fat Indian wedding for posterity, you know whom to call.
