Sometimes, we feel like we are growing old and miss our childhood days. But then, we are not old enough to remember the British Raj or experience the joy of seeing your country achieve independence. Really, it’s been 70 years since we’ve achieved our Independence. That’s a long, long time.

One of this writer’s grandparents has been living from that long a time, and he too was just a kid then. Recently, we heard about Dilip Kumar falling ill, but still being able to fight death at 94 years. There was a picture of him sitting, with Saira Banu giving him a peck on the cheek. It was a heartwarming picture, and it made us wonder – Dilip Kumar must be a young, handsome man when India got its Independence.
