Banksy is undoubtedly the 21st century’s most mysterious artist. The British native has made a name for himself with his artworks that pop up around the globe and his ability to hide his identity. But some folks on the Internet believe they know who he is. Their prime suspect happens to be Neil Buchanan from Art Attack.

Seems absurd, but when did anything coming from the Internet ever pass a normalcy test? Netizens spent their weekend giving their two cents on the conspiracy theory that gained steam over the weekend, claiming Neil Buchanan from the Disney show Art Attack is actually Banksy.

Several users started backing up the theory by laying down their views and thoughts, while some spent their time pointing out the absurdity of it all.

That’s when Neil Buchanan himself decided to weigh in. The artist released an official statement on his website revealing he is not Banksy.

Under the headline “Neil Buchanan is NOT Banksy”, the statement reads: “We have been inundated with enquiries over the weekend regarding the current social media story.

“Unfortunately this website does not have the infrastructure to answer all these inquiries individually, however we can confirm that there is no truth in the rumour whatsoever.”

The statement added that “Neil spent Lockdown with vulnerable members of his family and is now preparing to launch his new art collection in 2021.”

Why do we have a feeling that Banksy’s next artwork is going to be related to Art Attack? We’ll just have to wait and see.
