The nominations for the Grammy Awards 2020 are out with Lizzo, Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X leading the pack with the most nominations. And get this – former United States First Lady Michelle Obama has also received a nomination.
Obama was nominated in the best-spoken word album category which includes storytelling, poetry and audiobooks. The former First Lady has received the nomination for the audio of her book, Becoming.
“So thrilled to receive a #GRAMMYs nomination! This past year has been such a meaningful ride. I’ve loved hearing your stories and continuing down the road of becoming together. Thank you for every ounce of love and support you’ve shared so generously. #IAmBecoming,” Obama wrote on her social media.
Others nominated in the same category are Eric Alxandrakis, Sekou Andrews & The String Theory, John Waters and the Beastie Boys Book.
The Quint reports that former President Barack Obama has won twice in the same category – once in 2006 for his book Dreams of My Father and then two years later in 2008 for The Audacity of Hope.
