Hyundai India launched the all-new Creta, with prices starting at Rs 8.59 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The Creta is a mini-SUV famed for its ‘Hive structure’ body shell which boasts of greater structural integrity and therefore, greater safety. The Creta is big on space and comfort and appears to be priced rather impressively for a car of its proportions and quality.
The mini-SUV will be available in 6 variants and three engine options – a 1.6 litre CRDi diesel which puts out 125 bhp along with a smaller 1.4 litre diesel and a 1.6 litre petrol engine (121 bhp). Prices for the 1.6 litre petrol start at Rs 8.59 lakh going all the way up to Rs 11.19 (SX+). With the diesel, prices start at Rs 9.46 lakh (1.4, L) going up to Rs 13.6 lakh for the top-end 1.6 litre SX (O) variant. The 1.6 litre diesel will also be available with a 6-speed automatic transmission option.
The Creta boasts of a range of features including a 7” audio and SatNav unit with a 5” touchscreen option, rear camera display, 1 GB internal memory etc. The top-end variant also gets projector headlamps, six-airbags, ABS and ESP. Watch this space for an extensive review of the Creta
