Zoe Kravitz Drank Milk Out Of A Bowl To Prepare For Her Role In ‘The Batman’

The Batman, directed by Matt Reeves, released worldwide on March 4

The Batman is finally in theatres today. The Matt Reeves’ film was announced three years back when it was revealed that Robert Pattinson will be playing the titular role and Zoë Kravitz was signed to portray Selina Kyle/Catwoman.

While Pattinson is known to dive deep into his characters, everyone was eager to know how Kravitz prepared for the iconic role. Amongst the people intrigued by the question was The Tonight Show host, Jimmy Fallon. When Kravitz arrived on his show to promote the film, he made sure to ask her the question.

Fallon asked Kravitz to take him through the process of her preparing for the role, and the answer was not what we expected. The actress revealed she used to ‘drink milk from a bowl’ to get into her feline character. Fallon revealed that he would have ‘studied cats’ and ‘drink milk out of a bowl,’ to prepare for the role, and Kravitz stated that’s what she did.

“You drank milk out of a bowl?” exclaimed Fallon to which the actress replied by saying, “Maybe. I’m method, dude!” She went on to give more details about how she prepped for the role and revealed that she used to watch cat videos as well.

“I watched a bunch of cat videos, feline videos, watching them fight. And what I was so interested by was the fact that you can’t read their face at all, which is why I think people are kind of creeped out by them. You can’t tell what they’re going to do. They don’t care,” she told the host.

She went on to talk about how working with cats on the sets of The Batman was a difficult task. “They were the hardest thing to control during the shooting. We were doing like, crazy stunts, and like, all that was fine. But then, like, getting a cat to stay in one place. Impossible,” she added.

“They tried to get me to know the cats that were Selina’s cats, and it’s funny, they would say, “Training at 1:30, and then rehearsal at this time, and then cat time,” and I was like,”‘What’s cat time?” And it was just putting me in a room with a bunch of cats, the cats that were going to be my cats,’ she continued. ‘But the cats didn’t care. I was just sitting here, and the cats would just walk away; it did nothing,” said Zoë Kravitz in conclusion.

Directed by Matt Reeves, the film explores an early year of Bruce Wayne’s journey to becoming a crime-fighting vigilante, pitting him against the twisted, brilliant mind of The Riddler, played by Paul Dano. Robert Pattinson’s Batman will face off other key figures from the franchise, such as Catwoman and crime bosses Penguin (Colin Farrell) and Carmine Falcone (John Turturro).
