A film like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara deserves to be celebrated. The ZNMD cast did just that to mark the 10-year release anniversary of the film with a virtual reunion in form of a table read.

In presence were the four lead actors, Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Abhay Deol, and Farhan Akhtar along with co-writer and director Zoya Akhtar. However, Kalki Koechlin was unable to be in attendance, busy with a shoot elsewhere. This table read hosted by actor-comedian Vir Das was graced also by the film’s co-writer Reema Kagti and producer Ritesh Sidhwani.

In the 40-minute video shared through various platforms, the team sat and re-enacted quite a few iconic scenes from the film. Scattered throughout the scenes are snippets of the cast and crew discussing the significance of certain scenes, to them, personally, or to the movie and the impact that the movie is capable of, even a decade after its making.

This anniversary was also marked by a one-minute behind-the-scenes video that was shared on the Instagram handle of Zoya Akhtar’s and Kagti’s production house, Tiger Baby Films.

This unique cult classic is a story of three friends venturing on a road trip through Spain but it becomes a path to self-discovery for all three. Zoya mentions in passing how the movie never fails to resonate with people as there is no age to come of age, and that is what the movie validates in its honesty.

“We thought it would relate to that impressionable age and were quite surprised to see it went beyond just the youth. I think it’s just that there’s no age from coming to age and no matter where you are there is a relatability of  ‘you have one life’ and if you’re not hurting or harming anyone, you’ve got to what you have to do,” said Zoya.

The event ended with some of the movie’s quintessential poetry.

ZNMD has become an iconic movie, withstanding the test of time, remaining an absolute favourite for many over the decade that it has been around.
