Netflix has announced that the third season of You will be released on the streaming platform on October 15.
The OTT platform tweeted the release date with four stills from the upcoming season. An accompanying teaser with Joe speaking to his newborn baby was also released.
At the end of the second season, Joe was seen already eyeing a new neighbour, despite being in a relationship with Quinn. Season 3 of the psychological thriller will begin with Joe and Quinn married and raising their son, Henry, in the northern California suburb of Madre Linda. Their family life begins to become complicated due to Love’s impulsiveness and Joe’s increasing interest in that woman who lives next door, especially as he begins to feel trapped by how well Love understands him.
The series is based on the books You and Hidden Bodies by Caroline Kepnes. Season 2 saw Joe move from New York to Los Angeles to escape his murders with a new identity, who then falls in love with Love unexpectedly. Season 3 takes the story in a new direction from where the books have gone. The third in Kepnes’ series, You Love Me, was published in April after the writers’ room on the series planned its story, as reported by Variety.
The trailer of Season 3 features a voiceover from Penn Badgley, who plays Joe, revealing his character and Love becoming parents.
