If you haven’t heard of the World Record Egg, then you either don’t have an Instagram account or you’re vegan. But this one egg managed to bring the internet to its knees. The page posted a picture of a simple egg with the aim to get more likes than the so-called Instagram Queen, Kylie Jenner and it did. But after its purpose was over, the page continued to post regularly.
The pictures being posted were of the egg with cracks on it, basically on its way to hatch. The page managed to hold everyone’s curiosity and it was announced that international streaming giant, Hulu, has struck a deal with the page to reveal something important.
A one-minute-video eventually went live on Hulu after the Super Bowl, where the egg cracks, revealing a PSA for mental health, and the stressors that come with social media use. The text on the video read:
“Hi, I’m the world_record_egg (you may have heard of me). Recently I’ve started to crack. The pressure of social media is getting to me. If you’re struggling too, talk to someone. We got this. MentalHealthAmerica.net #talkingegg”

The message was accepted in a very positive manner with social media users thanking Hulu and World Record Egg for spreading the message of a healthy mental state and the pressures of social media.
But now that the egg has hatched, what’s next for the page?
