PV Sindhu has returned to India after winning a historic gold medal at the BWF World Championships. “I wish I’ll get many more medals for this country. I would like to thank my fans. It is because of their blessings and love that I am here today,” the shuttler said upon arrival, according to The Times of India.
“A great moment for me. I am really very proud to be an Indian,” she added.
A few days ago, Sindhu beat Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara 21-7, 21-7 in the women’s singles final to become the first Indian to win a World Championships gold medal. The next day, she had taken to microblogging site Twitter to express her feelings and state that she had difficulty holding back her tears while the National Anthem was being played.
Now, we hear that Sonu Sood is producing a biopic on her life.
“Yes, he told me. But I could only speak to him for a few minutes. He is travelling… So I’m yet to find out more about it. All I can say is that the film is in safe hands and I am sure he will do whatever is best for the film. He has my support,” Sindhu said, according to The Hindustan Times.
“Would definitely want Deepika Padukone to play the character. She had played the game and is a good actor too. But then the makers would take the final decision and I trust their decision,” she replied when asked which actor would be best suited to play her on the big screen.
