After dropping a series of hints on Instagram, Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker has dropped the veil on her relationship status. The actress tied the knot with politician Fahad Ahmad in a court marriage on February 6, 2023. The two got their marriage registered under the special marriage act of the Indian constitution, for which the couple had submitted the paperwork a month ago. The Veere Di Wedding actress took to Instagram to share the news with her followers. She posted a reel which was a timeline of how their story evolved.
The two never shy away from raising their voice when they feel that something is not right. They met in 2020 at a protest where the actress was seen on the stage with Ahmed happily cheering for her. He invited her to his sister’s wedding but due to work commitments, she couldn’t go. But she texted him saying that she will surely attend his wedding one day.
She then credits their cat Ghalib who brought the two of them together. The video further showed that they couldn’t wait anymore and thus got legally married in Mumbai.
Education
Ahmad was born on February 2, 1992, in Baheri, Uttar Pradesh. After spending his childhood there, he completed his graduation degree from Aligarh Muslim University, before getting an M.Phil from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) in Mumbai. He also served as the general secretary of the student’s union in the institution.
Activism and Politics
During his time at TISS, along with reportedly 1000-odd students, he protested against the authorities after they had decided to roll back the fee waiver for the students from Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes and other backward classes.
When the government announced the implementation of CAA and NRC, he joined several protests and rallies in Mumbai. He even led a protest at happened at Mumbai’s August Kranti Maidan.
Swara Bhasker’s Past Relationship
She was last dating award-winning writer Himanshu Sharma and their relationship went on for almost half a decade. They met on the sets of Raanjhanaa but unfortunately, they decided to part ways eventually. In an interview, she had poured her heart out and said, “I think you just have to sort of deal with it. In our case, it was very unfortunate. I didn’t have or I still didn’t have a lot of anger that could have helped me deal with it. Nobody did anything bad, nobody did anything wrong, nobody cheated on anyone. It was not those typical things, it was unfortunate.”
