Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s iconic ‘Palat‘ scene from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge has been recreated many time in Bollywood. From Vaani Kapoor in Befikre giving it her own tweak, to Varun Sharma asking a spirit to look back in Roohi, the audience has seen several versions of the scene. But it looks like the trend has now reached the Korean industry too.

K-Drama titled Youth of May recreated the ‘Palat’ scene in one of its recent episodes, and the Indian fans of the K-Drama could not help but relate it to Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s iconic scene. In the said portion of the latest episode, one can see the Lee Do-hyun (Hwang Hee-tae) and Go Min-si (nurse Kim Myung-hee) parting ways for the night.

As Myung-hee is walking away from Hee-tae, the actor is seen praying that Myunng-lee turns around one last time. “Look back, look back,” Hee-tae says repeatedly as the actress continues to walk. And then the obvious happens and she stops to turn around and greet him one last time. Surprised, he concedes that he was hoping that she would turn. Hearing this Myung-hee gives him a sweet smile.

Take a look at the scene here:

For anyone who has not seen the show, Youth of May airs on the South Korean channel KBS, and is also a very popular show. The show is set against the chaotic events which took place in South Korea in May 1980. Director Song Min-yeob described the show as “universal stories of love, sadness, and hate among young people at the time. It’s not about a specific incident. It’s about the stories of the people who lived during that time,” reported by Soompi. The show also stars Lee Sang-yi and Keum Sae-rok in key roles.
