Actress Sonam Kapoor has always used innovative means to promote her movies. Having realised the power of social media way before her peers, Kapoor has often made her hustle public on her social media platforms, particularly Instagram.
During the promotions for her film, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, the actress urged her followers and fans to share videos of them doing the hook step to the titular song from the movie. She then shared the videos on her Instagram feed. Again, during the promotions for Neerja, she got her followers to take videos of them narrating dialogues from the film on the Dubsmash app.
And, of course, we cannot forget the massively trending #SonamKiShaadi. The actress also launched her Sonam Kapoor app where she shares tips and tricks and BTS videos.
For The Zoya Factor where she plays the eponymous Zoya, the actress began posting vlogs on her social media feeds which gave an insight into her life and the decisions that her team takes on a day-to-day basis.
The makers of the movie had organised a special screening for some cricketers and she had also bumped into Rajkummar Rao on a flight. She had also visited Kareena Kapoor Khan on the sets of Dance India Dance where we got a tiny glimpse into what goes behind her wardrobe for promotional events. There was also a snippet where we saw Ranbir Kapoor revealing that Alia Bhatt is obsessed with her vlogs.
A few days ago, actor Kartik Aaryan launched his official YouTube channel which seeks to give viewers a glimpse into his life. In doing so, he’s in august company – he joins the likes of Alia Bhatt, Jacqueline Fernandes and Disha Patni who also have official Youtube channels.
“Every bit of My life belongs to you guys. So here’s welcoming you all into my personal world filled with love, laughter and happiness…Here’s a sneak peek of My Youtube channel- Kartik Aaryan Launching Today (sic),” the actor wrote on Instagram.
We won’t be surprised to see more actors jumping on the vlogging wagon and we are looking forward to seeing what makes them tick.
