Five Upcoming Video Games That Promise To Be Worth Their Wait

Before we dive into the deeply intriguing world of story-based games, let’s first take a look at some statistics. According to Forbes, Avengers: End Game has a total box office collection of $2.781 billion while Avatar has $2.788 billion. However, last year, Doug Creutz, an analyst for Cowen said that the legendary GTA 5 has sold over 90 million total copies, resulting in a total profit of, wait for it, $6 billion! If this simple statistic is taken into consideration, GTA 5 could very well be the best entertainment product of all time, apparently. GTA 5, along with other recent releases like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Last of Us have forever itched a deep memory in the hearts of gaming fans all around the world. In light of this, we thought of compiling a list of some of the most eagerly anticipated action-adventure and role-playing games to be released in the near future.

 

 

 

CyberPunk 2077

CyberPunk 2077 is a role-playing game (RPG) game set in the corrupt and technology advanced year of 2077. Gamers will get a chance to play V, a mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant which is the key to immortality. Also, Keanu Reeves is a part of the game and will play a rockstar turned vigilante called Johnny Silverhand. The game is set to release on April 16, 2020.

After the success of Last of Us, Sony is slated to bring a second part of the hugely popular, Playstation-exclusive game soon. As of now, there isn’t an official release date and the game is expected to come last year. With Ellie all grown up, one can expect Last of Us 2 to be an even more immersive than the first one.

For those who love a good a glimpse of the past, Ghost of Tsushima will be set in the year 1274 and is expected to have some insane samurai-style action. In the trailer, the main character, Jin Sakai is engaged in a fight for his home as the Mongol Empire invades the Japanese island of Tsushima. The game is expected to release on August 30, 2019.

 

 

 

Death Stranding

With actors like Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen, Death Stranding is sure to be an intriguing open-world game with elements like stealth and shooting. The game is also expected to have a heavy dose of surrealism. The release date for Death Stranding is set for November 8, 2019.

We couldn’t really end the list without talking about the next Grand Theft Auto, could we? Although very little is known about GTA 6, it is expected not to be set in U.S.A this time around. Also, rumours suggest that the game will not be released until 2021. Since the last GTA was released more than five years ago, the wait for GTA 6 only seems to be getting longer.
