Nathan Drake is coming to theatres near you soon. And he’s got a mean ride. Ahead of the release of Uncharted which stars Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, Hyundai has unveiled its new Tucson ‘Beast’ concept— the car that will accompany the swashbuckling hero on his adventure.
The ‘Beast’ concept is based on the road-going, production-spec Tucson but with a series of changes. Most of the tweaks are geared toward off-roading; this will make sense if you’re familiar with the adventures of Nathan Drake.
The Tucson Beast features a rugged new look, with reinforced bumpers and beefier tyres. There’s also a protective bull bar at the front, extra LED bulbs to help see in the dark, a custom roof rack along with side steps and bolt-on fenders. Hyundai has also attached a snorkel, in case our hero decides to take a dip with his car.

This “ready-to-go-anywhere” look is aided by the raised suspension setup for increased ground clearance. The SUV features a camo paint job, with the rims finished in black. The Tucson ‘Beast’ concept was created by folks at the Hyundai Design and Technical Center in Irvine, in collaboration with Sony Pictures.
In addition to the SUV, Genesis G90, Genesis G80 and Genesis GV80 will also make appearances in the movie.
A statement put out by the company read, “The all-new Tucson is a highly capable SUV that is up for the challenge of a treasure-hunting adventure. ‘Uncharted’ is a property with millions of fans around the world and we are excited to showcase the capabilities and technologies of our vehicles in ways that are creative and fitting to the Sony Pictures film. Our recent collaboration with ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ was a tremendous success in promoting the Ioniq 5 and Tucson, and we look forward to building on that momentum with ‘Uncharted.’”
